Saudi Arabia to implement ILS for occupational safety & health

Saudi Arabia is keen to apply international labor standards (ILS) for occupational safety and health, in various fields of work in the public and private sectors, seeking to create a culture of health and safety and develop capabilities to reach a safe work environment free of risks.

Its participation aims at the countries of the world in the celebration of the International Day for Safety and Health, which falls on the 28th of April of each year, to consolidate the concept of occupational safety and health and to enhance the protection of workers in the workplace, through the development of national standards in this field.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has raised awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health.

It has enhanced the attractiveness of work and a culture of prevention among employers and workers, with an emphasis on raising the compliance of companies operating in all economic sectors with the requirements and principles of occupational safety and health.

It also emphasizes the private sector establishments to apply safety and health regulations and requirements.

The Ministry affirms its keenness to develop national legislation in the field of occupational safety and health in line with the guidelines issued by the International Labor Organization, to create an attractive, healthy, and sustainable work environment.

Many studies have proven in this regard that the safety of workers in the workplace is one of the most important possibilities for increasing productivity and stability.

It is one of the most important possibilities to prevent material losses associated with accidents.
