Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched a comprehensive digital guide, translated into 16 languages, to efficiently support international pilgrims and visitors embarking on the sacred journey of Umrah, according to Gulf News.
By offering worshippers necessary procedural and religious information in their native languages, the ‘Umrah and Visit Guide’ seeks to further facilitate the pilgrimage process and ensure that pilgrims are smoothly performing the rituals.
The ministry noted that this move represents an integral part of a broader drive to boost the digital transformation in the Hajj and Umrah sector by providing Muslims with seamless services.
Presented as an interactive educational resource, the guide features a chronological format that depicts the pilgrim’s sacred journey.
It begins with essential pre-travel preparations, covering visa and permit requirements, before guiding pilgrims through the spiritual and technical aspects of rituals such as Ihram, Tawaf, and Sa’i.
In addition to religious guidance, pilgrims can enjoy practical logistical support.
It features digital links, interactive maps, step‑by‑step instructional videos, as well as detailed information on transport and movement within the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
Therefore, worshippers can smoothly navigate the holy sites.
With the aim of streamlining crowd movement and maintaining order at the holy sites, especially during peak seasons, the guide also includes behavioral and organizational guidelines.
The guide further outlines departure formalities, assisting pilgrims while they are wrapping up their spiritual journey.
