Saudi Arabia and Egypt have underscored the importance of intensifying bilateral coordination, reiterating their aligned positions on supporting peaceful solutions to regional crises.
On Monday, the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, received the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During their meeting, Prince Faisal conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, to Egypt’s President and people.
The Saudi Foreign Minister and the Egyptian President reviewed bilateral relations and discussed the latest regional and international developments.
Al-Sisi, for his part, commended the efforts of the wise Saudi leadership toward achieving development and prosperity, underscoring Egypt’s commitment to forging closer cooperation with Saudi Arabia across various fields.
Moreover, he welcomed ongoing efforts aimed at convening the inaugural session of the Saudi-Egyptian Supreme Coordination Council, according to the Egyptian Presidency.
He also underscored the importance of intensifying bilateral coordination regarding various issues of mutual concern and the ongoing crises in the region.
The discussions between Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Al-Sisi addressed several regional issues of mutual concern. Importantly, the meeting affirmed a Saudi-Egyptian alignment of positions on the imperative of reaching peaceful solutions to regional crises.
They emphasized that these solutions must preserve the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of states, particularly in Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, and the Gaza Strip.
In this context, Al-Sisi praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts to host a comprehensive conference for Southern Yemeni parties for dialogue on the Southern issue.
The meeting saw the attendance of the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty; Advisor to the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan; and Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini.
