The Saudi leadership announced on Sunday aid for the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon through the provision of monthly financial support to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and the provision of medical and relief assistance to the Lebanese people, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Gaza Support
The provision of monthly financial support to Palestinians aims to help address the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings. It comes as part of the continued care of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, for the Palestinian people.
It is also part of their commitment to providing all forms of support to the State and people of Palestine to alleviate their suffering in the face of the Israeli occupation and its violations of all international laws and norms.
On this occasion, Saudi Arabia reiterated its leadership’s tireless efforts to communicate with the international community to reach a ceasefire, protect civilians, and deliver more humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
Commitment to the Palestinian Cause
The Kingdom also emphasized the keenness of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to reach a just and comprehensive solution for the Palestinian issue, that grants the Palestinian people their legitimate rights and establishes an independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Moreover, Saudi Arabia stressed its commitment to the Palestinian cause as a top priority. Since the start of the crisis, the Kingdom has made every possible effort to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza and unified the Arab and Islamic stance towards the Palestinian issue by leading the ministerial committee appointed by the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit. This has led a number of states to recognize the State of Palestine, and demand its full membership in the UN.
Over the years, Saudi Arabia has provided humanitarian, relief and development aid to the Palestinian people, which surpasses $5.3bn.
Lebanon Support
Separately, Saudi Arabia’s leadership issued directives to provide medical and relief aid to the Lebanese people to alleviate their suffering during these critical circumstances.
Furthermore, Saudi Arabia expressed its deep concern over the recent developments in Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Kingdom reiterated its support for the Lebanese people amid the current circumstances, stressing the need to address their humanitarian implications.
With regards to this, the Saudi leadership urged the international community to assume its responsibilities in safeguarding regional security and peace to protect the region’s peoples from the dangers and tragedies of wars.
