Saudi Arabia approves 3rd booster dose for people aged 16 and older
Saudi Arabia has approved a third booster dose for anyone aged 16 and up if three months have passed since the second dose.
The Saudi Minister of Health stressed the need of receiving the booster dose for this age range and other groups, in a tweet through its official account on the social networking site for brief tweets, to defend against the coronavirus and its variants.
It urged everyone to make an appointment and go to the vaccination clinics to get the required dose of the vaccine to create community immunity.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health had previously announced the “Keep your level with a booster dose” campaign, aimed at building societal immunity against the coronavirus.
It indicated that a single dose is insufficient, particularly when mutations are present.
According to the Ministry, the second dose increases immunity to a level that is resistant and sufficient to fight the virus and its mutations, as well as reduces the risk of complications and disease severity to substantial levels.
