The Award of Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz for Excellence in Social Work has unveiled the 10 winning organizations and individuals in the 12th session of the award for 2024.
Launched in September 2024, the awards basically seek to boost excellence in social work both within the Kingdom or around the world.
The announcement was made during a press release that started with a speech by Member of the Board of Trustees, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee, Prince Saud bin Fahd.
During his speech, Prince Saud stated that the event represented a great occasion to celebrate the winners of the award.
The awards confirm “Saudis’ love and loyalty to the Kingdom through humanitarian, social and national initiatives,” he added.
In the same context, the Secretary-General of the Award, Dr. Fahd Al-Maghlouth, noted that a total of 722 candidates applied for the 12th award. After thorough screening and field visits for each candidate, the judging committee selected 10 winners.
“Excellence in National Achievement” Category
Two ministries jointly won the award, as follows:
- The Ministry of Interior – General Directorate of Prisons won jointly for the Furijat e-service initiative
- The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing for the Cities Development Initiative.
“Excellence in Islamic Endowments” Category
Al-Sarawat Endowment won the award for its pivotal efforts in Madak Schools Initiative.
“Excellence in Social Work Programs” Category
As for the Excellence in Social Work Programs Category, two entities successfully secured the award, as follows:
- Tarmeem Association for the Samaya Volunteer Housing Center initiative
- The Ghoroos Charitable Foundation for its promising initiative to establish the Namal Company for Social Investment
“Excellence for Social Work Pioneers” Category
Interestingly, Mr. Saleh Hamza Al-Sayrafi has won for the category of the Excellence for Social Work Pioneers as a recognition of the remarkable success of its Social Investment Initiative.
“Excellence in Social Responsibility” Category
The fifth category boasted two winners:
- The National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO) for the “Bright Efforts for Social Work” initiative
- NEOM Company for its social responsibility initiatives and programs
“Environmental Sustainability” Category
The award was shared equally between both entities:
- The branch of Ministry of Health banch in Najran region for its social investment initiatives
- The National Center for Wildlife Development for its “Journey of the Decade” initiative to explore the Red Sea
Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award
Established in 2012, the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Foundation for Excellence in Social Work supports community upliftment programs.
The awards are named after Princess Seetah, who was generally known for her charitable work and social efforts to elevate people’s lives.
