OAPEC condemns Riyadh oil refinery attack

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) strongly condemned the attack that targeted an oil refinery in Riyadh.

OAPEC stated – in a statement published on its Twitter account on Saturday – that the organization’s Secretary-General, Ali Sabt Bin Sabt, condemned these repeated hostile acts against vital installations, supporting the measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect its vital facilities.

It also stressed that these acts threaten and destabilize the security and stability of energy supplies and global oil markets, which are facing major challenges at present.

It should be noted that the General Secretariat of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries was established as an Arab regional organization of an international character, under an agreement whose charter was signed in Beirut on January 9, 1968, between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, and the State of Libya.

They agreed that the State of Kuwait can be the headquarters of the organization.
