Ministry of Industry Processes 1,682 Customs Exemption Requests in Dec. 2024

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources processed 1,682 requests for the Industrial Customs Exemption Service in December 2024. This initiative is part of the Ministry’s efforts to promote local industry and enhance its global competitiveness by granting national industrial establishments exemptions from customs duties on their imports of industrial inputs.

Customs Exemption Service
The Ministry’s spokesperson, Mr. Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah, stated that customs exemption requests processed included 11,013 raw material items and 53,035 machinery, equipment, and spare part items. He also added that the Customs Exemption Service is part of a broader package aimed at supporting industrial investors throughout their projects, from inception to export.

The Al-Jarrah pointed out that the industrial customs exemption service aligns with the objectives of the National Industrial Strategy by empowering and developing the Saudi industrial sector. It underscores the significant role played by the Ministry in stimulating and accelerating the growth of the national industrial base. Additionally, he explained that industrial establishments can obtain the customs exemption service promptly through streamlined procedures conducted via the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources’ digital platform, “Sanaei.”
Growth of National Production Sectors
Through the customs exemption service, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources supports local factories, boosts national production, reduces costs, and fosters industrial growth. Finally, the service allows licensed industrial establishments to import essential production items, such as machinery, raw materials, and packaging, without customs duties.
