Energy Min. Meets Guyana’s President during Saudi-CARICOM Summit
The Minister of Energy Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met today,Friday, with the President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana Mohamed Irfaan Ali. This meeting happened on the sidelines of the Saudi-CARICOM summit.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries in the fields of energy.
Today, the minister of energy also met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley on the sidelines of the Saudi-CARICOM summit.
Likewise, they reviewed bilateral relations and aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries in the fields of energy.
Saudi-CARICOM summit
The Saudi-CARICOM Summit represents a significant stride in international diplomacy. This landmark event aims to bolster relations and explore new cooperation avenues between Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean Community in economy, investment, trade, and tourism.
During the ongoing Saudi-CARICOM Summit, the leaders are discussing means of cooperation in various fields of common interest.
The discussion includes various fields such as educational scholarships, health, maritime cooperation, communication, logistic services, food security, energy security and others.
All the aforementioned fields are areas of cooperation between the two parties, including the sustainable development goals.
The summit has become a focal point with the arrival of prominent CARICOM leaders. Presidents and Prime Ministers from countries including Suriname, Guyana, Saint Kitts and Nevis arrived in Riyadh. They were warmly received by top Saudi officials at King Khalid International Airport.
Economic Connections and Future Growth
It is worthy to note that trade between the Gulf countries and CARICOM amounted to around $6.5 billion in 2021.
The summit and subsequent framework aim to further increase these numbers.
Discussions and collaborations at the Saudi-CARICOM Summit would facilitate opportunities in investment and business, benefiting both regions significantly.
