The Undersecretary of the Emirate of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Mushabab Al-Qahtani, revealed the efforts made by the relevant authorities to provide a variety of humanitarian services to the residents of the slums that were removed in Jeddah, which included the provision of nearly 69,000 services.
The services included 720 families, moving furniture, providing meals, medicine, children’s supplies, and volunteering, and efforts continue to deliver the first batch of development housing to 107 families, which will continue during the current year 2022 to reach 4,781 housing units provided by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.
This came during the handing over of the advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, at the emirate’s headquarters in Jeddah, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Abdullah Al-Badir, some residents of slums with their new homes, which will reach by the end of 2022 AD to 4781 housing units provided by the Ministry Municipal and rural affairs and housing.
Al-Qahtani added: the state, in its various sectors, has combined efforts to facilitate the residents of slums and provide their requirements. To this end, an electronic portal has been allocated to receive compensation requests for citizens whose homes have been demolished within the scope of those neighborhoods.
The Deputy Emirate of Makkah Al-Mukarramah region concluded his speech by saying: “What we are witnessing today reflects the great interest that the leadership of this country attaches to its citizens and its keenness to provide them with a decent life that guarantees the provision of services through which the requirements of the times are taken into account.
