King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) implemented a volunteer medical project for burns and plastic surgeries, a volunteer medical project for specialized clinics, and a volunteer training project to recruit qualified workers in sports injuries specializations in Aden, Yemen. The project extended from April 27 to May 5, 2024, reported Saudi Press Agency. Fourty three volunteers in various specialties participated in the projects in cooperation with the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.
During the campaign, the center’s volunteer medical team performed 226 successful burns and plastic surgeries. Also, 1,026 individuals benefited from the dermatology clinic, 2,317 individuals benefited from the family medicine clinic, and 587 individuals benefited from the dental clinic. In addition, 78 trainees were trained in sports’ medicine.
This comes within the framework of Kingdom’s system of integrated health projects, represented by the Center, to develop the Yemeni health sector and improve its services.
Few days ago, the center launched a project to distribute emergency food and shelter aid to those affected by torrential rains in Hadhramaut Governorate in Yemen. The project came in response to the local authorities’ humanitarian appeal to provide relief to the afflicted and affected people. KSrelief distributed 276 tents, 1,000 shelter bags, and 1,160 food baskets in Al Hajar, Sah, Tarim, Al-Mukalla and Al-Abr.
The distribution is an extension of the Kingdom’s relief and humanitarian efforts to help people in Yemen to alleviate their suffering as a result of the humanitarian crisis they are experiencing.
