KSrelief Cooperates with WHO to Expand Cholera Response in Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a cooperation agreement with the UN World Health Organization (WHO) to address cholera in Yemen, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The $2 million cooperation agreement represents an extra financial support contribution seeking to expanding the cholera response across Yemen. Therefore, the total allocation for this initiative became $5 million.

Signed on the sidelines of the fourth annual Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum, the agreement seeks to help hospitals and health centers and provide them with medicines, intravenous solutions, as well as antibiotics for treating patients.

Apart from this, the project features a vast array of activities, including environmental sanitation, water management, and community education. Meanwhile, it also supports the WHO’s vaccination campaigns in Yemen.

The agreement was signed by KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz and WHO Regional Director Dr. Hanan Balkhy.

It aligns with the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to boost the health sector and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
