KSA's Nature Tailors World Famous Female Figures
Saudi designs from the 1970s have imposed themselves on fashion and design enthusiasts during an exhibition that opened its doors to those interested in this global industry, reported Akhbaar 24. The museum of the Saudi international designer, Adnan Akbar, attracted attention at the “I am Arabian” exhibition. Many of his designs were inspired by KSA’s Nature, rich in inspiring details.
What boosts Adnan’s confidence is that many global figures have worn his designs, such as the late Princess Diana of Britain, the wife of French President François Mitterrand, the wife of President Saddam Hussein, and the wife of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, as well as several ladies from the Arab Gulf.
Abdullah Akbar, the manager of his father Adnan’s fashion house, shared during an “Akhbar24” interview the details of his passion for this art. He told “Akhbar24” that his father’s designs from the 1970s to the 1980s became dominant and enabled participation in global fashion shows, like those in the French capital, for example.
He recalls the Egyptian artist Sherihan wearing a “haute couture” dress with a long tail in the 1987 “Alf Leila Wa Leila” riddles. This dress took more than six months at Adnan Akbar’s workshop; over 30 tailors put touch on the dress. The environment rich in ideas that amazed many in the fashion world inspired it.
