KSA: Storming Rafah Has Dangerous Consequences
Saudi Arabia warned of the extremely dangerous consequences of storming and targeting Rafah City in the Gaza Strip. Notably, Rafah City serves as the last refuge for hundreds of thousands of civilians forced to flee by the brutal Israeli aggression.
MFA’s Statement Concerning Storming Rafah
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom (MFA), in a statement on Saturday, reiterated its firm rejection and strong condemnation of the forced deportation of civilians. Moreover, the MFA renewed the call for an immediate ceasefire.
Furthermore, it stated that this persistence in violating international law and international humanitarian law underscores the urgent need for convening the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The MFA underlined the necessity to prevent Israel from causing an imminent humanitarian disaster. Additionally, the statement confirmed that those who support the aggression bears responsibility.
The Results of Storming Rafah
Several officials warned of storming Rafah for it has repercussions on the entire region.
For example, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned of a humanitarian catastrophe if the Israeli army continues its attack on Rafah in southern Gaza. Guterres stated that half of Gaza’s population is currently crowded in Rafah, with nowhere else to go.
He added that such an action could exacerbate the already dire humanitarian nightmare with regional implications that cannot be described.
KSA Previous Announcements about Gaza Conflict
KSA’s previous announcements condemn the aggression against Gaza, practiced by Israel. The Kingdom denied calls for Palestinians to be forcibly displaced from Gaza.
Moreover, KSA repeatedly affirmed the importance of providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and secure a truce. Additionally, it condemned attributing this war to self-defense.
Furthermore, KSA confirmed that this aggression is an unacceptable disregard for Palestinian human life and exposes Gaza to ongoing acts of assault.
Additionally, KSA requested to take a firm stance to oblige Israel forces to follow international law and cease this suffering.
KSA underlined the necessity of establishing an autonomous Palestinian state that protects the rights and dignity of its people.
