Kleija Festival Sales Exceed 10 Million Riyals
The successful launch of the Kleija Festival was able to increase sales to 10 million riyals within 10 days of the beginning of the festival.
The average daily attendance at Kleija Festival in Buraidah has reached 20,000 thousand visitors per day. The sales ratio has exceeded one million riyals per day.
The festival aims to achieve sustainable marketing and achieve many professional and practical achievements. It also seeks to ensure the continuity of work and production for productive families. In addition, the festival targets developing the ‘craft’ and working to enhance it.
Kleija Festival
The term Kleija’s origin is unclear since some people say it comes from Turkish, some from Persian, and yet others say it’s an Arabic word that comes from the word Kelyaja, which should signify balance. The dessert dates back so far before the times of Ibn Battuta, the Arabian Marco Polo, who mentioned it in one of his notes.
Kleija Festival is an annual festival of a popular dish in KSA in the city of Buraidah located in the Qassim region in central Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom used to organize the festival since 2009. The Qassim Municipality and the Saudi Commission for tourism and national heritage also participate in organizing the Kleija festival activities .
The festival also aims to support productive families who work on producing this popular dish, and to promote other popular industries in the region.
In the end, the executive director of the festival, Nayef Al-Mansaleh, confirmed that the festival witnessed the participation of productive families and companies specialized in making Kleija and popular dishes.
