King Saud University Leads Arab Universities in Arab university rankings
King Saud University achieved a new Saudi milestone by securing the first place in the Arab university rankings issued by the Arab University Ranking Council. This notable accomplishment comes as the university outperformed 115 Arab universities evaluated this year.
Badran Al-Omar, President of King Saud University, congratulated the university’s community on attaining the top position in the 2023 Arab university rankings among 115 Arab universities. Al-Omar also expressed the university’s pride in this achievement, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence in various scientific fields, in line with the directives of the wise leadership.
The Arab university ranking is based on criteria like quality and academic excellence and teaching and research quality. Moreover, it is based on societal impact, increased citation rates, quality of academic infrastructure, and the number of talented students and researchers.
The Association of Arab Universities conducts this annual ranking as a reliable reference for measuring the quality of higher education in the Arab region. Moreover, this ranking is an important tool for universities to assess their performance and strive for continuous improvement.
King Abdulaziz University Wins Zero Project Award
Moreover, King Abdulaziz University won for the third time the global “Zero Project” Award 2023. It is awarded to leading entities in empowering people with disabilities around the world. In its current session, 523 candidates representing 97 countries are participating.
The university participated with the subject of the university’s qualifying year program for the deaf and hard of hearing. The program focuses on intensifying the development of language skills for 72 male and female students.
It also includes courses specialized in the Arabic language and provides and trains sign language interpreters. Moreover, it is concerned with spreading deaf culture and sign language in the university community.
The university will receive the award at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, the Austrian capital, in February 2024.
University’s Support to The Disabled
The Acting President of the University explained that receiving Zero Project” Award 2023 again is an indication of the university’s preservation of its gains regarding students with disabilities.
It also affirms the university’s continued efforts to develop the services provided to them.
Furthermore, the university prepares awareness media to clarify their rights and inform the university community of their issues and how to deal with them.
