King Khalid University Showcases Student Innovations at Engineer’s Day 23
King Khalid University showcased student innovations at ‘Engineer’s Day 23‘on last Wednesday.
Dr. Hamed bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, the Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at King Khalid University, represented the University President at “Engineer’s Day 23.”
This exhibition organized by the College of Engineering at the University’s Al-Far’a campus last Wednesday.
The event was also attended by Dr. Riyadh bin Ahmad Al Akran, the General Secretary of Abha’s Chamber of Commerce.
Emphasis on Research, Innovation
During the event, Dr. Al-Qarni emphasized the importance of the day in showcasing the University’s distinguished projects at the college level.
He highlighted the significance of scientific research in universities, which is a cornerstone of King Khalid University‘s strategic plan, aiming to enhance research and innovation to meet societal needs and future economic demands.
Exhibition Tour, Student Projects
Dr. Al-Qarni, the Vice-President at King Khalid University during his tour of the exhibition, examined a variety of student projects and winning entries in hackathon exhibitions and competitions, as well as research contributions in engineering fields.
Dean’s Perspective
Dr. Saeed Al-Qadi, Dean of the College of Engineering, stated that the exhibition showcased engineering students’ contributions to King Khalid University’s 2030 strategy. It focused on research and innovation for the labor market, the national knowledge economy, and community service.
The event also displayed projects and innovations from graduates in Engineering, Architecture, and Planning.
Closing Ceremony, Awards
At the conclusion of the exhibition, the Vice-President for Graduate Studies honored outstanding projects at the college level, winners, and participants in hackathon exhibitions and competitions, along with the Chamber of Commerce as a successful partner in the event. Dr. Riyadh Al Akran presented a commemorative gift to the University on this occasion.
