King Faisal University Hosts Innovative Factory for Food, Environmental Industries

King Faisal University hosts an innovative factory for food and environmental industries, with a total area of 1.4 million square meters. This is part of the ‘Rafid’ initiative launched by His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Engineer Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef. It aims to establish innovative factories in universities and technical colleges across the Kingdom and to develop effective partnerships with academic institutions.

Dr. Mohanna Al-Dulaimi, Acting President of King Faisal University, emphasized the significance of initiatives that bolster university involvement in the nation’s industrial renaissance. He highlighted their role in targeting key sectors outlined in the national industrial strategy.
He acknowledged the Governor of Al-Ahsa’s support through establishing industrial incubators, offering specialized training, attracting investments, and creating job opportunities for youth.
Dr. Al-Dulaimi said the university’s involvement in this initiative supports the ministry’s strategy to build strong partnerships between universities and the industry. Additionally, this boosts the use of innovation and research in advanced manufacturing.
Finally, he pointed out that the university, through its ambitious project, “Al-Ahsa Science and Technology Oasis,” will be a strategic partner in the success of this project, by providing a stimulating environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, and enabling young national cadres to contribute to building a promising industrial future in the region.
