Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has significantly increased its financial support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the entertainment sector. The funding will rise to $26.6 million, according to a recent press release.
Partnership with Kafalah Financing Program
The initiative is a collaboration with the Kafalah financing guarantee program for SMEs. It aims to strengthen and empower the entertainment industry in Saudi Arabia. In a statement on the X platform, the GEA emphasized the program’s importance for the sector.
Significant Coverage for SMEs
The program offers coverage of up to 90%, depending on the size of the enterprise. This ensures extensive support for SMEs seeking to grow within the entertainment industry.
Initial Launch and Growth
Launched in 2022, the initiative initially provided financing of $3.9 million for medium enterprises, $1.3 million for small companies, and $660,000 for micro-businesses. Approved banks and financing firms manage the funding distribution.
Aligning with Saudi Vision 2030
The initiative aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. This vision seeks to diversify the economy away from oil and support the entertainment industry.
