Iranian VP, Saudi FM hold talks in Brazil

Iranian VP Muhammad Hosseini, met with the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan in Brazil, on the sidelines of their participation in the inauguration ceremony of President Lula da Silva, Iranian news agencies reported. 

The Iranian VP stressed the necessity of continuing the talks that began between Tehran and Riyadh in Iraq, according to the Iranian news agencies “Tasnim” and “Mehr”. 

The two Iranian agencies stated that the Saudi foreign minister stressed the importance of discussing existing situations and mutual concerns in order to reach a conclusion, stressing that the type of relations between the two countries affects the region. 

“The current atmosphere is positive, and we hope to hold a new round of dialogue based on goodwill,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, according to the official Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
