Iran Strikes Leave 16 Qatari Citizens Injured

Iran’s latest wave of retaliatory strikes left 16 Qatari citizens wounded by early Sunday, as Qatar’s air defenses intercepted over 60 missiles and more than ten drones launched from Iran, according to Reuters.

Qatar’s Ministry of Defense reported that the country has been targeted by 65 missiles and 12 drones since the attacks began on Saturday.

Of those, 63 missiles and 11 drones were intercepted before reaching their intended targets.

Meanwhile, two missiles struck the US military’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, and one drone hit an early warning radar facility in the country.

On Sunday, Qatar’s Interior Ministry stated that 16 citizens were injured in the attacks, all as a result of falling missile debris, and reported limited property damage in several areas.

The ministry also urged residents to stay indoors whenever possible, avoid non-essential travel, and keep a safe distance from any unidentified objects.

On Saturday, Qatar Airways confirmed it had temporarily suspended flights to and from Doha, warning that delays are expected once regular operations resume.

The carrier also unveiled that it deployed additional ground staff at Hamad International Airport and other key hubs to assist passengers.

Moreover, Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry also advised private sector entities to implement remote work arrangements where possible, while assuring that domestic stocks of essential goods remain sufficient to meet public demand.
