International Translation Forum 2024 Kicks off in Riyadh with Worldwide Participation
The International Translation Forum 2024 has kicked off in Riyadh with robust participation from translation experts and specialists worldwide.
According to the Press Agency (SPA), the forum will highlight the latest developments in the translation profession, with a special focus on the new practices and technologies.
Organized by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, the two-day event concentrates on addressing the challenges translators face locally and internationally.
Therefore, the occasion includes several workshops and panel discussions addressing important translation issues.
First Day
Crucially the first day featured various unique workshops, such as “Digital Presence and Translators’ Professional Identity,” which focused on enhancing translators’ communication skills.
Moreover, “Integrating GenAI into CAT Tools,” workshop discussed how artificial intelligence can improve the efficiency of translations.
Among the topics of the first day include “The Path to Mastering Dubbing of Visual Content” and “Content Translation in the Digital World and Social Media.”
Second Day
Meanwhile, the second day offers specialized workshops, such as “Future-Proof Translation Career: Evolving Skills, Roles, and Opportunities” and “Building Custom GPTs for Language Purposes.”
With a prominent goal to introduce modern methods for teaching translation and developing translators’ skills, the forum will include an important session on “Training the Trainers: Integrating State-of-the-Art Pedagogical Approaches into Translation Education.”
“Translation Tales” Sessions
Interestingly, the forum highlights a fundamental series of sessions themed “Translation Tales” sessions.
Set to take place at the end of each day, the sessions provide a valuable opportunity for translators to share unique stories and experiences, such as “Game Changer: Be the Change You Want to See” and “When Talent Shortage Ignites the Spark of Innovation.”
An Accompanying Exhibition
In addition to this, the event includes an accompanying exhibition boasting approximately 30 entities specializing in translation.
This exhibition showcases the latest technologies and tools that support the translation sector and provides opportunities to enhance cooperation and build strategic partnerships with academic institutions, technology companies, and media outlets.
