The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) congratulated the Kingdom on the inclusion of the “Cultural Landscape of the Archaeological Area of Al-Faw” by UNESCO on the World Heritage List.
A statement issued by ICESCO today praised the Kingdom for achieving Vision 2030 targets with the number of sites registered on the World Heritage List. The inclusion occurred during the 46th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting in New Delhi.
On this occasion, ICESCO recalled the distinguished partnership it shares with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of valuing and coordinating efforts to implement necessary measures to preserve and develop historical heritage. Moreover, this aims to highlight the Islamic civilizational role of the land of the Two Holy Mosques as a center for global peace.
The collaboration underscores a mutual commitment to safeguarding cultural landmarks. It also promotes educational initiatives to raise awareness about the significance of Islamic heritage.
By working together, ICESCO and Saudi Arabia strive to foster a deeper appreciation of history and culture among future generations.
