The International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) has launched an interactive edition of the Data and Artificial Intelligence Glossary in collaboration with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL), and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). The launch marks World Arabic Language Day, celebrated annually on December 18.
The glossary is designed to support the preservation of the Arabic language while enriching Arabic digital content with specialized technical terms and concepts. It also aims to raise awareness of emerging technologies, facilitate access to knowledge for researchers and professionals, and unify technical terminology to advance the digital economy and build a sustainable, knowledge-based future.
The interactive platform allows users to explore data and AI terminology in Arabic, English, and French, and to contribute by adding terms in different Arabic dialects. This collaborative approach promotes knowledge sharing and strengthens coordination among scientific and technical institutions at both regional and international levels. Finally, the glossary currently features more than 1,200 specialized terms.
