Saudi Arabia distributed over 4.9 million Iftar meals at Makkah’s Grand Mosque and Madinah’s Prophet’s Mosque during Ramadan’s first week. The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques confirmed this milestone, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to pilgrim welfare.

Additionally, worshippers consumed 8,393 cubic meters of Zamzam water, while sanitation teams removed over 1,190 tonnes of waste to ensure hygienic conditions.

Makkah’s Grand Mosque welcomed 500,000 Umrah performers in one day, marking Ramadan’s highest single-day attendance. Officials opened 196 entry points, including five main gates, to streamline pilgrim movement.

Meanwhile, authorities deployed advanced crowd-monitoring systems and installed 200 digital guidance screens across mosque courtyards.

Innovative Services Enhance Pilgrim Experience

Pedestrian assistance teams supported worshippers, while mobile barber units and luggage storage centers improved convenience. To enhance this, six luggage collection points were operationalized near key prayer areas.

As part of cultural enrichment, the authority launched the “First Home” exhibition in the Third Saudi Expansion Area. Thousands of visitors explored the Kaaba’s history and evolution through this exhibition.

Furthermore, volunteer groups provide essential organizational, health, and informational support. Their dedication ensures a seamless and spiritually enriching Ramadan experience for everyone. These efforts align with Saudi Arabia’s mission to ensure safe, seamless, and spiritually enriching Ramadan experiences for all pilgrims.
