The head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, (PLC) Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, called on the international community to restore security and stability in the country and to “bring” the Houthis to the negotiating table.
Al-Alimi stressed during a dialogue session held, Saturday, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, that “the Yemeni people will not get tired of the resistance in order to get rid of the nightmare of the terrorist Houthi militia and its subversive project supported by the Iranian regime,” according to him.
He called for “achieving a comprehensive and just peace, in accordance with the agreed terms of reference, especially Resolution 2216.”
The President encouraged the international community to further support the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, through sustainable economic and development programs, and to pump funds into relief organizations and agencies through the Central Bank of Yemen.
He added that if the international community wants a peaceful, negotiated solution, it must go through a comprehensive path that includes addressing all issues, including the terrorist group’s abandonment of its extremist Takfiri ideologies, and at the forefront the cessation of repression of women and activists.
