Gaza ‘Board of Peace’ Announcement Expected Next Week

US President Donald Trump is expected to reveal the members of the Gaza Board of Peace next week, Axios reported.

The Board of Peace is part of the second phase of Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza, endorsed by the UN in November 2025.

Unveiling Gaza Board of Peace

Trump is expected to make the announcement next week, reported Axios, citing two US officials and two sources familiar with the matter.

The international transitional body will oversee a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee – made up of qualified Palestinians and international experts – which will handle delivering the day-to-day running of public services and municipalities for the people in Gaza.

Moreover, it will establish the framework and manage the funding for the Strip’s reconstruction until the completion of the Palestinian Authority (PA) reform program.

The formation of the Board will be followed by the deployment of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, tasked with maintaining security and demilitarizing the Strip.

Board Members

Under the plan, Trump will chair the Board of Peace, alongside other members and heads of State. According to Axios, the Board will include around 15 international leaders.

“Invitations are going out to key countries to be members of the board,” one of the informed sources said. The invited countries include the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye.

Moreover, the Trump administration is considering the heads of the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and World Economic Forum as potential members of the Board, the Times of Israel reported, citing an Arab diplomat.

However, the plan could change depending on developments in other foreign policy issues on Trump’s agenda, such as Venezuela or Ukraine.

Board Structure

According to Axios and the Times of Israel, the UN’s former Middle East envoy, Nickolay Mladenov, will represent the Board of Peace on the ground in Gaza, handling liaison with the Palestinian technocratic committee.

Axios said that Mladenov will visit Israel this week to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials ahead of Trump’s announcement.

Meanwhile, the Board’s intermediate executive committee, which will manage day-to-day oversight, will include Trump’s top advisers Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, in addition to UK former Prime Minister, Tony Blair, according to Times of Israel.

As for the Palestinian technocratic committee, Egypt has been leading consultations with the US, Israel and Palestinian factions, developing a list of 12 politically unaffiliated individuals, eight of which were approved by the Shin Bet security service.

The Board of Peace’s first meeting could take place during the World Economic Forum in Davos later this month as Washington hopes it could make initial fundraising before the meeting.

Hamas Reaction

For its part, the Palestinian movement Hamas on Thursday signaled its readiness to hand over the administrative responsibilities in Gaza to an independent committee to oversee the administration of Gaza across various sectors, in line with Trump’s peace plan.

In a statement on Telegram, Hamas spokesperson, Hazem Qassem, noted that the group will work to facilitate the committee’s duties and the process of handing over the administration of the Strip, reaffirming that Hamas does not intend to be part of any future administrative arrangements in Gaza.

The ceasefire between Hamas and Israel took effect on October 10, 2025, ending a two-year war that has so far killed around 71,400 Palestinians, most of them women and children, wounded more than 171,200, and reduced the enclave to rubble.
