Her father, who owned a small fleet of speedboats, influenced her significantly. The small town of Doga, located on the shores of Tihamah and just 20 minutes away from the sea, was her birthplace, setting the stage for a lifelong connection to maritime activities.
Fatimah Al-Shaikhi holds a significant position as a Senior Logistic Coordinator at Red Sea Global, where her daily responsibilities are nothing short of demanding.
She adeptly juggles between office work and on-site responsibilities, which include organizing schedules, supervising operations, and managing boat captains.
Her work often takes her between Jeddah, where her family resides, and Umluj for professional commitments. Despite the challenges, including managing operations on isolated islands, she finds her work fulfilling as it aligns with her passion for the sea.
One of her commendable achievements includes the implementation of a maritime upskill training program within the marine department of Red Sea Global.
This initiative not only empowered her team but also significantly benefited the local community. Through this program, 44 local boat captains and logistics coordinators were hired from surrounding communities, providing them with personal and professional development opportunities.
