Elderly, pregnant women to receive vaccination against influenza in mid-October
The German Robert Koch Institute’s Standing Committee on Immunization has confirmed that there are groups that need to be influenza vaccinated.
Three groups called for the necessity of obtaining vaccination against influenza, and they are:
- People over 60 years old
- Pregnant women
- People who suffer from chronic diseases, due to a weak immune system.
It advised the need to receive the flu vaccination from mid-October to mid-December.
The Committee indicated that the ideal protection against influenza begins about two weeks after receiving the vaccination.
It listed the side effects after receiving the vaccination, which disappears after one to two days for the person to return to normal, in the next,
- Redness at the vaccination site
- Feeling pain at the vaccination site
- High temperature
- Fatigue and trembling
- Sweating and headache
- Muscle aches
The Standing Committee on Vaccinations warned that the flu wave would begin in early January, calling for the need to adopt preventive methods.
