Egypt to host King Abdullah Translation Award Ceremony in October

The International Prize for Translation will be held in Egypt’s Bibliotheca Alexandrina in October 2022, according to a press release from the King Abdulaziz Public Library.

Faisal bin Muammar, the library’s general supervisor thanked King Salman and his first heir for their support and concern for King Abdulaziz Public Library as well as for choosing to host the award ceremony in Egypt

It is noteworthy that the library recently announced the names of the winners of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Translation in its tenth session

The Board of Trustees of the award, after reviewing the report of the Scientific Committee, decided to award the award to the winners in its six branches.

The King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Translation is one of the library projects that it launched in October 2006.

It is an international award of appreciation for works translated from and into Arabic.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina was chosen to host the award ceremony in its tenth session due to its vast cultural heritage that spans the epochs of ancient civilizations and its significant knowledge role in the Arab world and beyond.

The previous sessions of the award were hosted in major cities throughout the world, starting with Riyadh, Casablanca, Paris, Beijing, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Geneva, Toledo, and Riyadh.
