Eastern Province Prepares over 900 Parks for Eid Al-Fitr

The Eastern Province has geared up for Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Eastern Province Municipality has prepared many tourist and municipal services, across residential neighborhoods in the Province’s cities and governorates.

It provided necessary services, ranging from green spaces, to children games and sport playgrounds, in preparation for receiving visitors during Eid al-Fitr.

The Deputy Secretary for Services, Mahmoud bin Hassan al-Ratoui, confirmed that the Eastern Province is ready to receive Eid visitors, by equipping public parks, and maintaining green spaces and children games.

These efforts included 979 public gardens and squares, 18 public parks, 14 waterfronts, and 213 walking tracks, for residents and visitors to spend quality time.

Al-Ratoui pointed out that the Municipality is working on establishing more public parks and squares, in addition to rehabilitating old parks and stepping up the pace of work in these facilities, under the “Humanizing Cities” and “Quality of Life” programs, to achieve sustainable development.

The Director General of Parks and Environment, Sultan bin Saleh al-Shetawi, said that all maintenance work for preparing parks and squares have been finished to receive visitors during Eid al-Fitr.

He added that the Eastern Province Municipality ramped up its maintenance efforts for green spaces, through pruning trees, planting more than 2 million flowers, installing more than 30 decorative sculptures, maintaining fountains and operating 11 fountains in Dammam.

In addition, signs have been installed in parks and corniche, with instructions for visitors to follow in order to keep them safe, enable them to enjoy their time, and to instill the concept of public decency in gardens and parks.
