Diriyah Season Launches TYN Festival, Celebrating History, Culture, Arts

Diriyah Season has launched the ” TYN ” Festival in the historic Al-Turaif district, attended by Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman and Founder of the Heritage Foundation, along with a gathering of experts and specialists. Under the theme “Mud Landmarks Between the Past and the Future,” the festival celebrates history, culture, and the arts, highlighting the legacy of earthen architecture in Diriyah and showcasing its potential for innovation and sustainability.

The festival is designed to cater for a diverse audience, including culture and art enthusiasts, architects, creative designers, and the general public—families and children—who seek to explore the rich heritage of Diriyah and the authenticity of the historic At-Turaif district. It also brings together art, architecture, and community through a variety of programs featuring immersive experiences, educational activities, and world-class exhibitions. Visitors will enjoy unique historical experiences in the palaces of the At-Turaif district under the theme “Earthen Architecture: Building and Innovation,” alongside narrative exhibitions and artistic dialogues that blend authentic traditions with innovation.

Southern At-Turaif Garden
The Southern At-Turaif Garden serves as a vibrant hub that brings together public activities, diverse workshops, art seminars, shops, and cafés under the theme “Earth’s Canvas: Expression Through Clay.” The festival also features a range of accompanying events, including panel discussions, a photography exhibition showcasing the work of the late architectural artist Hassan Fathy, and the opportunity to explore historical narratives within the palaces of At-Turaif. Additionally, visitors can also witness a live demonstration of 3D printing with clay, participate in various workshops to enrich their experience and discover traditional crafts, and enjoy authentic local cuisine at shops and cafés that reflect the rich heritage of the area.
