Diriyah Gate, Amazon to Foster Cultural, Tech Collaboration

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) and Amazon have taken steps to strengthen cooperation in the cultural and technological fields, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

In the light of this, the CEO of DGDA, Jerry Inzerillo, and Amazon Saudi Arabia Country Manager, Abdo Chlala, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance the visitor’s experience at the historical sites of Diriyah, and enrich the cultural and historical content on Amazon Alexa.

The MoU aims to enrich the cultural and historical content through providing comprehensive information about the ancient history and heritage of Diriyah, and supporting the local content of Diriyah’s community through showcasing their products and enabling them to sell their items through Amazon.

Moreover, the MoU aims to enhance the visitor’s experience through developing interactive applications that introduce visitors to the historical sites at Diriyah. This falls in line with DGDA efforts to realize the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by contributing to tourism, cultural and historical sectors.

On this occasion, Inzerillo said that signing the MoU with Amazon is the start of a continued cooperation that align with Diriyah plans to emerge as a global destination for culture and heritage.

This involves “connecting the past to the future through harnessing advanced technologies to highlight the rich heritage of Diriyah and the authentic culture of Saudi Arabia,” he added.

On December 20, 2024, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority launched the Diriyah Season 24-25 under the theme Entertain Your Cultural Curiosity. Running until March 15, 2025, the Diriyah Season offers a variety of events and activities across more than 5 venues within Diriyah.

These events aim to immerse visitors in a unique cultural experience that combine artistic expressions with entertainment.
