Dhu Al-Hulaifah Miqat Mosque Receives over 15 Million Visitors in 2025

Dhu Al-Hulaifah Miqat Mosque in Madinah welcomed more than 15 million visitors in 2025, following the completion of major development and service enhancement projects aimed at elevating the experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers.

These initiatives were implemented as part of an integrated service framework focused on improving operational efficiency and delivering high-quality services. Key upgrades included the installation of over 100 water distribution points across the mosque’s courtyards, modernization of the lighting system with approximately 7,000 lighting units, and enhancement of the audio system through 190 advanced speakers and amplifiers.

To accommodate the large influx of visitors, more than 1,300 restroom and ablution facilities were developed and rehabilitated, significantly improving accessibility and readiness. The mosque also upgraded its guidance and wayfinding system by installing more than 30 directional signs, laid over 2,400 square meters of prayer carpets, and rehabilitated more than 12,000 square meters of marble and porcelain flooring throughout the mosque and its surrounding courtyards.

Additional improvements included the installation of more than 40 fans to enhance comfort, over 50 lighting poles to improve courtyard illumination, and the preparation of more than 480 designated bus parking spaces to support traffic flow and ease visitor access.

The mosque also implemented human-centered enhancements across its courtyards and facilities, alongside strengthened organizational and operational readiness. These efforts significantly improved reception efficiency and elevated the overall visitor experience, with the mosque’s capacity now exceeding 15,000 worshippers.

These development initiatives were carried out under the mandate of the Madinah Region Development Authority, in partnership with the Pilgrim Experience Program and relevant stakeholders, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
