Continental Champions Jet in Saudi Arabia for Handball Club World Cup

The Australian team from the University of Queensland arrived early on Saturday morning in preparation for the 16th edition of the “Super Globe 2023” Handball Club World Cup.

This event, held for the fourth consecutive time in Saudi Arabia at the Ministry of Sports Hall in Dammam, will take place from November 7 to 12 with the participation of 12 clubs.

Teams Arrive in Saudi Arabia

The reigning champions, Magdeburg from Germany, have been confirmed to arrive late Sunday evening along with Bahrain’s Al-Najma club.

Other teams including Fox Berlin from Germany, Kielce from Poland, San Fernando from Argentina, Al-Ahly from Egypt, Call Heat from the USA, and Kuwait’s Al-Kuwait, will arrive at various times on Monday. Barcelona from Spain will be the last to arrive on Tuesday afternoon​​.

High Demand for Opening Day Tickets

85% of the public attendance tickets for the first day of the tournament sold out within less than 48 hours of going on sale.

The opening day will feature four matches, highlighted by the two involving Saudi teams. Al-Noor will face Egypt’s Al-Ahly at four o’clock, before the opening ceremony, while Al-Khalij will take on Germany’s Magdeburg at seven-thirty in the evening.

Ticket sales for the remaining days will be announced later, with the first day’s ticket sales attracting over 17,000 fans simultaneously​​.

National Teams’ Preparations

The Saudi representatives, Al-Khalij and Al-Noor, have expressed their full readiness to compete in the tournament, aiming to honor their nation and achieve distinguished results amid the giants of club handball.

Both teams have announced their preparedness, including signing notable players to strengthen their squads and participating in friendly matches as part of their preparation​​.
