Saudi Arabia to Host International Handball Federation Men’s Super Globe for Fourth Consecutive Time

The Saudi Ministry of Sport, in cooperation with the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation, today announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 2023 International Handball Federation (IHF) Men’s Super Globe tournament in its 16th edition, between November 7 and 12 in Dammam for the fourth consecutive time, after the Kingdom organized the tournament in 2019, 2021 and 2022.

The tournament will see the participation of 12 teams, representing ten countries and representatives of Saudi Arabia of Al-Khaleej and Al-Noor, which will participate in the tournament for the second time. Al-Noor participated in the 2021 edition in Jeddah, while Al-Khaleej took part in the 15th edition in Dammam in 2022 and ranked sixth.


The participating teams are winners of the previous edition SC Magdeburg of Germany, Europe’s champions Barlinek Industria Kielce of Poland, Asia’s champions Al-Najma Club of Bahrain, Africa’s champions Al-Ahly of Egypt, South and Central America’s champions San Fernando HB of Argentina, North America and the Caribbean’s champions San Francisco CalHeat of the USA, and Oceania’s University of Queensland of Australia, in addition to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Khaleej and their runner-ups Al-Noor. The IHF nominated Barça of Spain and Fuchse Berlin of Germany to participate in the event along with the champions of the Arab tournament Al-Kuwait.
