The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has launched the annual Citrus Season for the year 2025, which coincides with the harvest season in AlUla, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Running from January 3-11, 2025, the Citrus Season aims to celebrate citrus harvest, support the agricultural sector, stimulate economic growth, and establish AlUla’s position as a destination for agritourism.

On its first day, the Citrus Season 2025 received a large number of visitors and families during the mid-term break. It offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the wonderful nature of AlUla, while exploring its rich heritage.
Held at the farmers’ market in AlManshiyah Plaza, the event involves open markets displaying local citrus fruits, in addition to a wide range of cultural and entertainment activities for all ages.
Furthermore, the Citrus Season features special culinary experiences that highlight the use of citrus fruits in the preparation of delicious dishes.
The Citrus Season 2025 serves as a platform to showcase sustainable agriculture efforts in AlUla. The region is home to more than 5,000 farms, cultivating 405,000 trees across 29 citrus varieties. These include oranges, sweet lemons, bergamots, sugar oranges, mandarins, clementines, grapefruits, and kumquats.
This highlights the diversity of AlUla’s crops and the role of local farmers in supporting the region’s agricultural economy. The Citrus Season displays AlUla’s rich agricultural heritage, supports its local economy, markets local farmers’ products, and advances the RCU’s goals of achieving sustainable development.
