The Saudi Transport General Authority (TGA) introduced the electronic unified contract (e-contract) for car rental in 2021.
Under this regulation, all car rental facilities must adopt the unified e-contract issued through the “Tajeer” service on the Naql portal.
The aim of the unified e-contract is to streamline car rental services by providing several advantages that facilitates the leasing process for both the lessor and the lessee.
According to the TGA, the unified e-contract raises the quality of the provided services. It also guarantees the efficiency of the technical requirements of the rental cars.

Moreover, the unified e-contract promotes and protects investment in car leasing activities. It also preserves the rights of both the lessor and the lessee and enhances the confidence in the provided services.
Furthermore, the unified e-contract improves the car rental sector by facilitating and streamlining leasing procedures and operations. It also reduces disputes and the burden on the relevant authorities as the contract is documented and includes all legal requirements and clauses.
According to the TGA figures, 2,667,000 benefited from the unified e-contracts of leasing cars in 2022.
