Autism Society Organizes Campaign on Autism in Children

The Autism Society of Tabuk organized an awareness campaign yesterday titled “Autism in Children”, reported Saudi Press Agency.

The association organized the campaign in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tabuk at Tabuk Park Mall.

The executive officer of the association clarified that the campaign included setting up an awareness exhibition to introduce what the association offers to individuals with autism and their families.

She noted that the association aims to be a bridge between policymakers, specialists, and the families of individuals with autism.

Saudi Diagnosis for Autism

Saudi researchers developed advanced technology for Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis, reflecting a commitment to healthcare excellence. King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center announced this innovative approach, reported Akhbaar 24.

It received a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and was published in scientific journals.

Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis technology  is based on eye-tracking and visual stimuli combined with artificial intelligence. This method overcomes traditional diagnostic techniques.

It also suitable for cultural and linguistic aspects. Therefore, it offers a more effective and accurate alternative for ASD diagnosis.

The innovation resulted from a study involving a diverse group of male and female participants across a wide age range.

What is Autism?

Autism is a developmental disorder affecting communication, behavior, and social interaction. Early signs often include delayed speech, limited eye contact, and repetitive behaviors.

Diagnosis typically involves behavioral evaluations and developmental history assessments. While exact causes are unknown, genetics and environmental factors are believed to play roles.

Moreover, autism is a spectrum. Therefore, symptoms and severity vary widely among individuals.
