Al-Semari named ‘Cultural Personality of the Year’

In its third session, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Arab Poetry Academy’s Board of Trustees, approved Dr. Fahd Al-Samari, Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz Foundation, as the “Cultural Personality of the Year for Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Prize.”

This award is a literary award, originating in Saudi Arabia and destined for an Arab world, aimed at appreciating distinguished Arab creators in the field of classical Arabic poetry.

It was launched by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal through Taif University, represented by the “Arab Poetry Academy”. Each year, a person is chosen for the award to be honored.

Why choose “Al Samari”?

Al-Samary was chosen for his literary and scientific efforts. He is the Secretary-General of the Centers for Studies and Documents in the Arabian Gulf and an advisor at the Royal Court.

He is the general supervisor of the “National Center for Documents and Archives”, the Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the “Research and Studies Center in Madinah”, and the editor-in-chief of “Al-Dara Magazine”.

Al-Samary is a member of the Board of Directors of the Heritage Authority since July 22, 2020, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, and the Camel Club.

 He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the “National Museum” since April 2020, the “King Abdulaziz Complex for Endowment Libraries” and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Council.

His most important works and achievements

Among Al-Samary’s most important books are “King Abdulaziz and Germany”, “Friends and Memories”, “A Journey to Central Arabia”, “Encyclopedia of King Abdulaziz’s Diplomatic History and Others”, and “King Abdulaziz Al Saud Private Library”.

He was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal of the First Class in Saudi Arabia, and the Knight’s Medal from the Government of Italy.
