Al-Khorayef Concludes his Official Visit to New York
The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, concluded an official visit to the U.S., covering New York, California, and Nevada. The visit aimed to enhance industrial and mining cooperation, strengthen bilateral ties, and attract quality investments to the Kingdom.
During the visit, His Excellency met with leaders of major American industrial and mining companies and discussed with them joint investment opportunities in advanced strategic industries that the Kingdom aims to localize. These include aviation, aerospace, electric vehicles, and renewable energy. Additionally, they explored the latest mining technologies, clean energy solutions, and the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution applications in manufacturing processes, including artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.
Kingdom and UNIDO
At the start of his visit to New York, Al-Khorayef welcomed global ministers of industry and leaders of industrial transformation at an event organized by the Kingdom and UNIDO. The event aimed to promote the Kingdom’s upcoming hosting of the 21st UNIDO General Conference in Riyadh in 2025 and the Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF) in 2024. He invited industry leaders to participate, emphasizing these events as opportunities to develop innovative industrial solutions and policies that support regional and global industrial growth.
His Excellency visited the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and was briefed on its latest electronic systems used in evaluating companies and sectors. He listened to a presentation on the history of the stock exchange, its trading and purchasing mechanism, in addition to the best practices followed in enhancing efficiency and raising competitiveness.
Columbia University, New York’s
During his visit to Columbia University, New York’s oldest university, he was briefed on academic programs supporting the industrial and mining sectors. He met with faculty members and students from Saudi Arabia, the U.S., and other countries. In an interactive session, he discussed the transformation of Saudi Arabia’s industrial and mining sectors, highlighting key areas of development in the National Industrial Strategy. He also outlined “Vision 2030” objectives to make the Kingdom a global industrial leader, diversify income sources, and boost the sectors’ contribution to the GDP.
MINExpo2024
Al-Khorayef held bilateral meetings with leaders of the most prominent mining services companies participating in MINExpo2024, during which he discussed the localization of the latest smart solutions in mining operations and the promising investment opportunities in the Saudi mining sector.
Finally, his Excellency visited JetZero and SpaceX in California to discuss enhancing cooperation in aviation and space industries, developing local aviation supply chains, and utilizing Saudi mineral resources. These efforts aim to boost local manufacturing, particularly in the aviation sector, a key focus of the National Industrial Strategy.
