Al-Bisht Al-Hasawi Festival Records 70,000 Visitors

The “Al-Bisht Al-Hasawi” Festival, organized by the Heritage Authority at Ibrahim Palace in Al-Ahsa Province, attracted more than 70,000 visitors, according to Saudi Press Agency.

The event offered a variety of cultural and heritage programs and activities, drawing families and individuals from various regions of the Kingdom and the Gulf countries since its launch last Wednesday.

“Journey of Bisht” Exhibition

The “Journey of the Bisht” exhibition allows visitors to learn about the traditions of wearing the bisht in the Kingdom according to colors and days-specific colors designated for each day of the week.

“Leaders and Bisht” Corner

The “Leaders and Bisht” corner showcases personal photographs of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and his sons, Kings Saud, Faisal, Khalid, Fahd, Abdullah, the current King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

“Bisht Market” Corner

The “Bisht Market” corner features Al-Ahsa traders displaying various types and colors of bishts and shawls, both handmade and machine-made.

Craft Activities

The festival includes a range of craft activities, such as the contemporary Al-Hasawi Bisht exhibition and traditional crafts like leatherworking.

Children’s Workshops, Traditional Folklore Shows

Special workshops for children about traditional bisht-making arts are organized, along with competitions, prizes, and traditional folklore shows.

Concurrent with Restoration of Ibrahim Palace

The festival coincides with the completion of restoration and rehabilitation works of Ibrahim Palace. It is a historical landmark in the region covering an area of about 18,200 square meters.
