Prince Saud bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa, launched the “October 2024” campaign for breast cancer awareness, under the slogan “Be Optimistic and Get Tested Now.” The campaign is organized by the Al-Ahsa Charitable Cancer Society “Tafaol,” with the participation of the Al-Ahsa Health Affairs Directorate, King Faisal University, and the Al-Ahsa Health Cluster.
The campaign also aims to raise community awareness about breast cancer and ways to prevent it, as well as the importance of early detection of breast cancer. This will be achieved through educational tours, awareness lectures, health initiatives, and virtual exhibitions, in addition to employing artificial intelligence and robots in awareness efforts and medical consultations.
His Highness commended the support and attention of the wise leadership for awareness campaigns that serve the Saudi society, aiming to improve the quality of life and achieve a vibrant community, in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. He also praised the efforts of the association and the entities participating in the campaign.
Marasi Catering Company, Al-Mousa Hospital
The Governor of Al-Ahsa honored the campaign’s supporting entities, represented by Al-Mousa Specialized Hospital and Marasi Catering Company. He also received the association’s annual report for 2023, which included the association’s achievements and various activities. Additionally, His Highness toured the early cancer detection vehicle; he issued directives that the vehicle and screening services be extended to the villages and centers of the governorate.
The Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, Mohammed Al-Afalq, emphasized the association’s role in supporting cancer patients and raising community awareness. He also noted that the programs administration launches its awareness campaign at the beginning of October each year and thanked the Governor of Al-Ahsa for inaugurating the campaign and supporting the association’s programs and activities.
