Saudi Health Min. Approves Organizational Structures for Health Clusters

The Board of Directors of the Health Holding Company (HHC) approved the organizational structures for health clusters as part of the launch of the second phase of transformation in the Ministry of Health, reported the Saudi Gazette.

HHC announced in June that it is currently preparing to transfer three health clusters from the Ministry of Health to the company at the beginning of the second half of 2024.

The first batch includes three health clusters, as follows:

  • Riyadh Health Cluster
  • Eastern Health Cluster
  • Qassim Health Cluster

The Ministry stated that the remaining clusters will be gradually transferred over the next two years.

Furthermore, it approved the appointment of all the employees of the Ministry of in HHC, confirming that they will receive the same salaries or even higher than them, in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 616.

The board meeting, chaired by Minister of Health Fahd Al-Jalajel, underscored the significance of maintaining and investing in employees.

The meeting also highlighted the training program designed to improve the employees’ practical and leadership skills, in order to efficiently provide high-quality healthcare in the next phase.

First Phase of Health Transformation

The Ministry completed the first phase of the health transformation by the end of 2023 with the launch of 20 health clusters to serve beneficiaries across the Kingdom.

It implemented 8 paths of the modern healthcare model including heart attack path, the stroke path, the early detection path for breast cancer, early detection path for colon cancer, serious injuries path, the obesity path in adults, the diabetes path in adults, and the palliative care path.

Furthermore, the healthcare centers witnessed the registration of over 20 million beneficiaries across the Kingdom.

The health clusters contained nine urgent care centers compatible with the requirements of the Ministry.

Moreover, the Ministry activated the virtual care level and home care services to reduce the duration of therapeutic intervention.
