The Medina Health Cluster launched a field initiative to raise awareness about avoiding direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. They distributed umbrellas, health bags, water bottles, and medical ice bags to visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque during Friday prayers.

The initiative coincides with the return of the pilgrims to the city after performing Hajj rituals and the rising temperatures in the region. Moreover, it aims to raise awareness among visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque about heat stress and how to deal with it.

He stated that the initiative has distributed  3,500 bags of medical ice, 10,300 bottles of water to reduce the temperature, 4,850 umbrellas to protect against the sun’s rays. It also  distributed more than 3,297 health bags to more than 12,000 visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque.

It is noteworthy that the Medina Health Cluster has completed its preparations to confront heat stress in the region by preparing 32 beds to treat cases of heat stress and sunstroke, distributed among a number of health facilities in the city.
