A funnel cyclone is taking place in Hail

The National Center of Meteorology responded to a recent video of a meteorological phenomenon in the Hail region.

The Meteorological Center noted today that the weather phenomenon seen in Hail is unusual and that it is usually accompanied by violent thunderstorms with wind speeds over 60 km/h.

It was pointed out that this circumstance is known meteorologically as a “funnel cyclone,” or tornado, implying that it usually occurs on land, but the phenomenon that occurs at sea is known as a “water tower.”

The video of the tornado was circulated on social media by activists as a rare and unusual occurrence in Saudi weather.

It’s worth noting that the Hail region has gotten a lot of rain in recent days as part of a wave of rain that hit the Kingdom and soaked numerous places.
