Madinah’s hospitality sector has achieved a significant milestone in the first half of 2025, topping the Kingdom’s regions in hotel occupancy rates, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Chamber has released an economic report showing that the occupancy rate in Madinah’s tourist hospitality facilities reached 74.7%, with an average daily rate of SAR538, and revenue per available room standing at SAR402.
The report also indicated that by the end of the first half of the year, the Madinah Region boasted 523 licensed hospitality establishments. Of these, 456 are located within the city, encompassing 361 hotels and 95 serviced apartments.
Meanwhile, the total number of licensed rooms across the region reached nearly 64,569, with hotels representing 94% of the total.
Therefore, Madinah has become Saudi Arabia’s second-largest city after Makkah in terms of licensed hotel capacity.
By securing these figures, Madinah serves as the top-performing region in the Kingdom’s hospitality sector, followed by Jeddah Governorate with an occupancy rate of 59.7%, and Riyadh at 58.3%.
