Saudi Arabia Warns Against Misleading Domestic Worker Ads

Saudi labor authorities have warned against misleading advertisements that offer domestic worker services at “tempting” prices ahead of the month of Ramadan, according to Gulf News.

The labor officials also stated that the demand for house helpers and bogus recruitment ads on social media have been increasing ahead of the fasting month.

As the Kingdom’s official domestic labor portal, the Musaned platform emphasized that unlicensed entities are responsible for such offers. Therefore, they urged the public to stop dealing with unofficial sources.

“People should not be misled by these suspicious advertisements or engage with any unauthorized parties outside the approved platform,” Musaned said.

Domestic workers in Saudi Arabia include several categories such as housekeepers, drivers, housemaids, cleaners, cooks, guards, farmers, live-in nurses, tutors, as well as nannies.

The Kingdom has launched the Musaned platform to be the mandatory channel for domestic worker recruitment.

Crucially, the platform provides essential services, for example visa issuance, recruitment requests, as well as contract management in line with Saudi labor laws.

Currently, authorities are taking strict measures against unauthorized recruitment and advising citizens and residents to verify all hiring processes through Musaned to avoid legal and financial risks.
