Saudi Arabia Launches Early Date Harvest Campaign

Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Palms and Dates has launched its early date harvest season campaign, marking the beginning of the year’s first fresh crop, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The campaign seeks to promote the seasonal calendar of early and mid-season dates across different regions, diversify marketing opportunities, promote the crop’s economic value, and boost its contribution to the national economy.

Running from late May to September across Riyadh, Al-Ahsa, Madinah, Qassim, Al-Kharj, Qatif, Hail, and Jouf, the early date season features key varieties including sukkari, sagai, ruthana, barhi, and khalas.

Ahmed Al-Ayada, the center’s acting director general, said the initiative aims to raise public awareness of harvest seasons and production regions, showcase Saudi date varieties, and stimulate local consumption to support farmers and boost trade.
