Saudi Arabia Launches Humanitarian Air Bridge to Syria

Saudi Arabia launched an air bridge on Wednesday to deliver urgent aid to Syria, reaffirming its global humanitarian commitment. Two planes from King Khalid International Airport landed in Damascus, carrying food, medical supplies, and shelter, said KSrelief.

Kingdom Supports Syrian Recovery Efforts

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah confirmed that Saudi Arabia will send a land bridge soon to further assist the crisis-stricken country. He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s dedication to helping vulnerable populations globally, showcasing its role in international humanitarian initiatives.

Since the Syrian conflict began in 2011, Saudi Arabia has consistently supported displaced Syrians and refugees in neighboring countries. In February 2023, Saudi Arabia also provided significant aid to earthquake victims in northern Syria, said KSrelief.

Aid Without Discrimination

Abdullah Al-Harees, the Saudi Embassy’s charge d’affaires in Syria, highlighted the Kingdom’s unwavering efforts to alleviate Syrian suffering. Mohammed Hazem Bakleh of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent expressed gratitude, ensuring equitable distribution of aid across Syrian territories.

Saudi Arabia’s total aid to Syria, exceeding $856 million, reflects its consistent support for those affected by this prolonged crisis.
